The short answer is... why not?!
Whether or not you and your partner have children, capturing your love story over the years is a beautiful gift to your future selves. You'll never be this young (or energetic!) again, and one day - when you've grown older and slower - you'll thank yourselves for having taken the time to collect albums of images that show the story of your life together.
Couples photoshoots are a fantastic way to celebrate an engagement, milestone anniversaries and other lifetime achievements (like buying your first home!)... but you also don't need a reason. "Just because" is a perfectly valid excuse, too!
Whatever your "why", I can't wait to capture you and your love together.

When should I organise a couples photoshoot?
There is no wrong time to organise a couples photoshoot, but some great excuses for one are: anniversaries, engagements, milestones (like buying your first home, or moving to a new city), and my favourite... "just because we want to!".
If you're after a sunset at the beach, I recommend booking for autumn or spring, when the wind tends to be less intense. If you're wanting luscious green fields, book from May through to early November. If you're after golden fields, book from late November to the end of January. Otherwise, book whenever feels right for you, and we can find the perfect location based on the time of year and your aesthetic preferences.
Where should we have our couples photoshoot - I'm stumped for locations!
I have so many favourite locations across Perth, and honestly, all of them are perfectly suited to a couples session - it all depends on the vibe you're after, and where you feel most comfortable! If your idea of a perfect date night is eating fish and chippies on the beach watching the sunset, well... the beach is looking like a pretty fantastic option for you! If you're more of a fine dining kinda couple, then we can turn to a more urban area like the Perth CBD or streets of Fremantle. And if you're more yeehaw then city, I have a couple of field and bush locations that might tickle your fancy. Alternatively, if you're homebodies, an at-home session is always a lovely, intimate option.
Who can be included in my couples photoshoot?
My couples photoshoots are priced to include yourself and one partner. If you're needing something more personalised, please feel free to reach out.
Help... we're so awkward. How do we pose during our couples photography session?
You might think you're awkward... but so has EVERY couple I have ever photographed. Promise. Couples sessions can feel extra awkward at first because it's just you and your partner - there are no kids or other people to hide behind. However, I can confidently say that my secret sauce mix of playful prompts and soulful questions will have you relaxing in no time. I only ask that you come with an open heart, ready to connect fully with your partner.
How should we dress for our couples photoshoot?
You should dress like YOURSELVES, but elevated. If you're a jeans and tee kinda gal, wearing a long, flowing dress might feel less freeing and more suffocating... so don't do it to yourself! You can dress as up or down as you would like for our session - you're welcome to dress for comfort or dress to push yourself out of your comfort zone. I'm always here to help you plan the perfect outfit.
In terms of colours, I will always recommend staying away from brights and neons, as they do not tend to fit with the vibe of my photography. I recommend picking complementary, neutral colours, with the odd pop of texture or a pattern.
How much PDA can we display at our couples session?
As much or as little as you'd like! Before your session I'll send through a comprehensive questionnaire that will ask your comfort levels around certain things (like being picked up, PDA, and more).
If you'd rather not be asked to plant a smooch on your partner during the session, that's totally fine - please just let me know in advance. I value open, honest communication and always want to ensure your comfort is my number 1 priority. Alternatively, if you're fans of a cheeky make-out sesh in public, that's fine too!
Please note that my couples sessions do not involve nude or lewd images - if this is what you're after, I can recommend some fantastic boudoir photographers who will be able to assist you.
